I love Thanksgiving! It has always been a relaxing time for my family. Getting together with the whole family is a blast. I am truly blessed to have such a large extended family. It breaks my heart to know that there are so many people who choose not to celebrate with theirs or feels its a burden to have to spend all day at someones house.
Since we moved out of town this is a time we can catch up with the aunts/uncles and all the cousins. Hannah loves all the cousins....well, except she still is really not into the wrestling part. It will be fun to see all the little ones playing together.
Lord...thank you for blessing me with a large extended family. Help me to never take this for granted.
.......Rachel is awake....gotta go for now.....Happy Thanksgiving!

Verse #5
This is a few days early but I had a few minutes and it was on my mind.
Matthew 6:9-15
9"This, then, is how you should pray:" 'Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, 10your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. 11Give us today our daily bread. 12Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.[a]' 14For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
Just a reminder of this verse from a friend when I was struggling to forgive. Thanks Honey!

Verse #4
4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Honestly, I absolutely love my husband. When I read this verse I always think of him. He is very patient, very kind, he doesn't envy or boast. He is not rude or self-seeking, he is not easily angered and he defintely doesn't keep record of wrongs. I love that he respects me, never talks down to me. I am just very thankful that the girls have a wonderful dad.

Shots, shots and more shots
Yikes,
Yesterday was such a crazy day. Rachel had her 6 month appt(weighing in at a big 16.9 lbs and 25 inches long) and she got 4 shots. Oh I hate when they give them shots...it hurts my heart. Well, also Hannah had to get her flu shot but last week the Dr. told me that she could get the mist in her nose instead of a shot so the good mother that I am told Hannah ...."You don't have to get a shot today. Dr. MacDowell said that you can get the mist that goes in your nose" So as soon as we walked in the office Hannah told the nurse proudly "I don't have to get a shot today" she replied "ooh well, maybe" She looked at me and said "we used our last mist this morning". uuuuugggggggghhhhh, now I'm feeling like the good mom. So needless to say Hannah was clueless as to what a shot really felt like at this point. Until......I still can see it in slow motion......The nurse grabs Hannah's thigh, squeezing it, while Hannah is watching her every move not scared at all yet still clueless to the pain that is coming, the nurse starts to put the needle in and Hannah is still talking , and then the needle goes in , Hannah's face was in shock, now tears, now a look at mom with a look of how are you standing there letting me go through this pain, alot of tears are now flowing, the shot is done but the tears aren't. Oh, how horrible I felt....so we made a trip to the DQ.
So lesson learned, don't ever tell you kid they are not getting a shot when you go to the doctors.

Wednesday Wisdom..well a little late
O.K., I need to find another name for Wednesday Wisdom because everytime I read that it makes me think that I telling the world I am the source of wisdom. Which, is far from true. My wisdom comes from God alone. So, help me out here anyone who has a suggestion. Also, I know more people read this than my only one friend Megan from college who is my only, bless her heart, follower. So please take a few minutes to register your name and let me know you are my friend. Also, please feel free to make comments.
Now, on to the verse for this week.
Matthew 7:12 Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
So far these verses that I've chosen aren't hard to understand. But my story to go along with this is that Hannah and I went to Chick Fila the other day and she went to play in the kid area. She was having so much fun until she comes out crying. She was heart broken as said "Mama, this big boy hit me (as she held her arm)........" I interrupted her and said "Well, Hannah was it an accident?". I always ask this because my little dramatic Hannah bless her heart could make it seem like the sky is falling if she drops a piece of paper on the floor. Anyway, story continued.... Hannah replied "Mama, it wasn't an accident he hit me but he didn't even say he was sorry." As more tears flow from her precious little eyes. She was crushed to know that someone could hit her and not say they are sorry. My heart broke for her. As many times as we have pounded in her head that she not only needs to apologize if she hurts someone but she also needs to ask for their forgiveness, and now at age 3 is seeing that everyone doesn't do this. Wow, this is a hard one but something she will have to learn. I think it is very sad that many mothers regardless of if they read the Bible or not don't teach their children this common verse. "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."
But also when I read this verse I thought about my quick interruption with Hannah and how I don't like to be interrupted when I'm talking so I need to pay more attention and stop interrupting people when they are talking. That is a bad habit of mine.
God help me to be more aware when I begin to interrupt people also help me to continue to guide Hannah as she is learning that some kids are just simply not nice.
